Yoga can help us to be more present or more mindful in our lives.
You may be aware that “mindfulness” is everywhere these days and for good reason. Interestingly, it has its roots in yoga.
Being mindful is about living in the here and now, not worrying about what we did yesterday, half an hour ago, what we’re going to do tomorrow or the next day.
It’s about taking notice of what’s actually going on in our life right now.
This enables us to understand better what is happening in our lives, rather than listening to the little voice in our heads that is continually telling us what it thinks is happening. This way we are better able to deal with whatever situation in which we find ourselves.
